I believe that, as with MoM, you need Fame and a reserve of gold in the bank in order for them to turn up. Heroes that just turn up next to a town and ask for gold to be recruited to your cause are purely random. I was reading up on the game's wiki that heroes hire themselves at random, saying 'As a hero acquires fame, a hero may offer to join as a random event." So I have questions.ġ) What's the chance I'll see this Dwarf hero at this rate?Ģ) Is there a limit to the number of additional heroes you can get?ģ) Would you say my preferred hero tactics make sense or would you suggest something else? I'm going by advice from my previous thread for building my main character.Ĥ) When it comes to hireling melee heroes, what abilities would you suggest? I'm thinking Lightning Strike, Life Stealing, Round Attack, Fire Strike, Parry and/or Wall Climbing, among others. If I could still get the Dwarf, I'd definitely use him for melee combat liike before. This time, my current hero (still an Elf) is more melee (with Lightning Strike and Life Stealing) than magic while my Halfling hero is more of a caster (and mana battery). When I originally had this Dwarf hero, I used him as a powerful melee hero while my main hero (who is an Elf) was more of a caster and ranged combatant. This current time, no Dwarf hero as of yet. This time around, I had found a Halfling hero in the "Northern Trade Route" mission. The first two times I've played this game, I get to this mission and had this certain Dwarf hero approach me for hire (in a manner similar to the classic MicroProse game, Master of Magic, that's also available via GoG). So far, so good, but I noticed something different this time. So I have been still trying to beat the Keepers campaign and am going through the "Earthquake" mission.
